From the Anthony Burgess novel 1985:

‘The strike’s over,’ [Bessie] told her father. ‘It was terrible, wasn’t it, Linda, having no telly. But tonight it’s Road Floozy.’

Road Floozie by Darcy Glinto (Robin Hood Press 1950)

In the novel 1985, Road Floozie appears to have been adapted for television under the title Road Floozy. (But the titles are likely to be a coincidence.)

Another of Bessie’s favourite TV shows is Sky Rape:

They can show the big wide pictures on them, like that one we saw that time with the monsters.’

You mean Sky Rape?’

Was that what it was called? You and me and mum saw it.’
